Painful Intercourse (Dyspareunia)

You might start to find sexual intercourse painful. This can happen because there are changes in your body that make certain positions uncomfortable for you, and there are changes in your pelvis that can inhibit circulation, or create uncomfortable pressures. It can also be caused by worries or fears relating to the safety of the baby. Depending on the cause, you might try new positions, apply ice to your external genitalia, or do your best to work through your fears. There is absolutely no cause to be worried about sexual relations during pregnancy, as long as your water hasn’t broken and you are not having any bloody discharge.
